SHeatherby.com is a website based on a simple goal: to give people the best in designs, music and movies. Established in September of 2005, SHeatherby.com was just a very basic layout with no real interface at all. Still, the site was young and no content had been uploaded before the website underwent a radical transformation.

 

After learning a few new tricks in Adobe Photoshop, site creator Steve Heatherby decided to experiment a bit with visuals and went with a much darker layout. Even though the header of the site was decent, the side navigation was almost unusable, and the lack of tables made it difficult to upload new content in an organized manner. Steve decided that the layout needed to be redone to not only a "cleaner" look, but into a more interface friendly form.

 

The third incarnation of SHeatherby.com was more legable and easier to navigate in. The establishment of tables made it possible to update the site with new content and allowed users to navigate in a efficient manner. However, the tables were a bit sloppy, and with multiple projects mixed up, the site was for lack of a better term, a mess. Steve decided that not only must there be a better way to have the site look, but there must be a better way to establish an interface that is both functional and visually appealing to the users.

 

After almost a year of work, SHeatherby.com has finally found a layout and look that Steve is finally happy with. Though not as radical as other designs, this incarnation is both clean and appealing. But at the same time, it allows users to navigate the site with ease.

 

About Steve Heatherby

Steve is a 19 year old graphic design student, currently attending the Chubb Insititue in Springfield, PA. This is not a new town for Steve, as he was born and raised in Springfield, and has developed a great passion for Graphic Design over the past few years. Prior to Chubb, Steve attended the Aston Campus of the Delaware County Technical Schools for 3 years. During that time, he rose to the top of his class for all 3 years, attended 2 state competitions for SkillsUSA, while winning a gold medal for Web Design in regional SkillsUSA competition, competed in state level of the Pennsylvania State Computer Fair for Multimedia Presentation and created several designs for local companies and organizations. Along with these achievements, Steve had the honor of presenting his designs to a group of instructors and designers at the 2005 Technology Information Conference at Montgomery County Community College in Pennsylvania, and was one of the first students in Delaware County to be inducted into the National Technical Honor Society.

-Work hard to create visually-stunning graphics that will be reconized by people for years to come
